Transfer Policy
Residents wishing to move between the Palo Verde and Verano Place communities must submit an application to the GFH waiting list. In addition to the standard eligibility criteria, resident applicants must have been in their current apartment for 12 months and have no outstanding balances on their housing account before they are eligible to receive an offer for a new placement. Placements from the waitlist are made as spaces become available and by application date. The contract for the new apartment will begin 45 days after the offer is accepted. The contracts for both apartments will overlap by 2 days to allow time for moving. If the apartment is available earlier and the resident wishes to move sooner than 45 days, the resident will be financially responsible for both apartments from the day keys to the new apartment are issued through the end of the 45 day period.

Getting Married or Entering into a Domestic Partnership?
If you are planning on getting married or entering into a domestic partnership, contact the Palo Verde office at (949) 824-8918. There is a waiting system for students who transfer from single to family housing. The process is as follows:- Student should go on-line to the my housing gateway
https://my.housing.uci.edu/gateway to be added to waitlist for family apartment.
- Residents must have lived in Palo Verde Housing at least twelve (12) months before any eligible relocation request will be accepted.
- Only one offer will be given. Failure to accept an offer will result in removal from the list. Failure to respond to an offer may jeopardize a resident’s relocation.
- The resident will be responsible for fulfilling all contractual obligations associated with terminating the contract in the first apartment and those associated with assuming possession of the second apartment.
- All appropriate deposits and associated charges, (current or past), must be paid before Approval from the Student Accounts Counselor is required.
