- Where do I make my housing payment for 2012-13? Can I pay electronically or by mail?
- Housing payments are made to the Central Cashier located on the second floor of Aldrich Hall. Payments may be made online through Net.Pay or in person using cash, check or money order, payable to "UC Regents". Mailed payments should be in the form of check or money order (do NOT mail cash) sent to UCI Central Cashier, 228 Aldrich Hall, Irvine, 92697-1975. Click here to go to the Central Cashier Web site.
- Are my student housing charges included in my Zot Account Online?
- Yes, beginning July 1, 2012, housing charges and payments for Verano Place, Palo Verde, and Campus Village (Graduate) will be made through the student ZotAccount system. Housing charges will appear on your ZotBill 45 days prior to the due date. Rent due July 1st will appear on your May 15th ZotBill. Click here to access your Zot Account Online.
- Do I need to pay my bill before I move in? When is my first housing payment due?
- Palo Verde, Verano Place and Campus Village Grad Housing residents must pay their security deposit and first month's pro-rated rent before move in. Residents have 12 monthly payments per year due the 1st of each month.
There is a 10-day grace period after the due date for paying rent. Late fees are charged beginning on the 11th day. - How much is my housing payment?
- Housing payments are due the 1st of each month. Click here for payment amounts (this will open a separate browser window to the Student Housing Rates web page.)
- Can I make housing payments by credit card or debit card?
- No. Credit cards or debit cards are NOT accepted to make housing payments at the Central Cashier, however, payments may be made electronically using Net.Pay (electronic check). The Central Cashier also accepts payments made with cash, check, or money order (made payable to "UC Regents").
[NOTE to International Students: Payments must be in US dollars in the form of an international money order, or a check, payable through a U.S. bank.]
Always write your Student ID# and "Housing Only" on the memo line of your check or money order to ensure proper crediting of your account. -
Does my graduate funding pay for housing?
- Most graduate student funding comes in the form of grants, scholarships, fellowships, or employment stipends that cover fees and/or is paid directly to the student. These types of graduate funding are not automatically applied to housing charges.
If you have other needs based financial aid, check with Financial Aid at (949) 824-8262 (or go to the Financial Aid Office in room 102 of Aldrich Hall) to find out if your financial aid award covers housing expenses, and when awards are disbursed. Applicable aid is applied to current charges only. -
- Will my Security Deposit be returned when I move out?
- Security deposits are paid when you submit your lease. When a student leaves Student Housing, their apartment is inspected, and any repair cost for damages is deducted from the security deposit, with the balance being refunded to the resident.
- What if I cannot make my housing payment on time?
-
If for some reason you cannot make your housing payments by the due date, you should contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor, in Housing Administrative Services by email at shac@uci.edu or phone (949) 824-3333 to apply for a deferment or alternative payment plan.
To avoid late fees, you must contact the Student Housing Accounts Counselor and make your arrangements before the end of the grace period (10 days after payment is due).
Mailed payments that are received late will be assessed a late fee. Late fees will not be excused by claims of "mail delay" or "lost payments". If you are concerned about your payment arriving on-time, we suggest that you drop it off in-person to the Central Cashier.
