Palo Verde Parking /Parking Renewal process
Palo Verde uses a “permitless” system called License Plate Recognition, (LPR), where the scanning of license plates is used for the enforcement of resident parking. Residents requesting valid parking permissions will be given their own account with Parking and Transportation Services, (P&TS), through the Palo Verde Office. Residents are now responsible for managing their Palo Verde parking privileges.
**Please note your parking permission is valid only in Palo Verde. It is not valid for use on campus or at the Medical Center.
Activation of Account
Parking permissions will be activated only for vehicles that are registered to the PV contract holder, the contract holder’s parents, domestic partner, spouse, or other's listed on the contract holder’s rental contract. A copy of the current registration must be provided to the office in order to initially set up the account.
Residents will receive an email from P&TS (hermes@pts.uci.edu) with a temporary password. They must read and accept the terms and conditions to activate their account. Residents may access their account using the same password that was originally sent from P&TS or click here for link: https://www.parking.uci.edu/permitless/login_pv.cfm. (It is recommneded that you change your password to something more private that you will not forget.)
Application Instructions (for current garage and residential parking permit holders):
- Read and print the 2010/2011 PV Parking and Garage Policies/Application.
- Complete the application.
(Note: Leave the “For Office Use Only” spaces blank.)
- Make a COPY of your CURRENT DMV vehicle registration document for each vehicle listed on the application and submit these copies to the Palo Verde office. Do not send the original registration document.

That is, if a resident does not remain eligible to live in the community, their vehilce permission will expire the day of lease termination or contract expiration.
If you are in the process of renewing your vehicle registration and have yet to receive your decal from the DMV, you will need to contact the Palo Verde Housing Office to make the necessary arrangements.

VISITOR PERMISSION PROCESS
All residents receive 432 hours of "Visitor" permissions per quater,(equivalent to 18 days). Visitor permissions are also managed using a "permitless" LPR system where scanning of license plates is used for enforcement of parking. Residents must log into their accounts and record the license plate of the visitor's vehicle and the number of hours of the intended visit. Residents may have more than one visitor at a time, but must register each vehcile. Visitors may only park in designated "Visitor" spaces. If you exhaust your hours before the quarter is over, you will not be given any addtional hours
