Arroyo Vista offers on-campus housing for Summer Sessions I, II, and Full Summer, as well as for Pre-Summer and Pre-Fall transitional periods. Space is limited, however, and contracts are offered on a first come, first served basis.
AV Theme Houses
- 16 - 32 residents per house
- Furnished bedrooms: bed, desk, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe, and under-the-bed drawers
- Internet and cable TV access in every room
- Living room with cable TV and DVD player; full-sized kitchens (with stove, refrigerators, microwaves and pantry storage space; cookware, dishes and utensils, are not provided)
- Housekeeping service for all public areas (including bathrooms)
- Utilities included (water and electricity). Telephone service can be ordered through AT&T/SBC at (800) 310-2355
- Card-operated laundry facilities in each house. Students provide their own linens.
- On-campus, close to the Anteater Recreation Center
- Shuttle service between Arroyo Vista and the campus core (Mon-Fri, 7:30 a.m.-8:10 p.m. $1/ride, or purchase a pass at UC Items--unlimited use for Summer Sessions I or 2, $35.00; full summer pass, $65.00). http://www.shuttle.uci.edu

Eligibility
AV Summer housing contracts are offered to students 17-25 years of age who are:
- Continuing UCI students
- Enrolled in a UCI Summer Session class
- New students enrolling for Fall 2012
- Visiting students employed by UC Irvine
Eligibility for Transitional period housing is limited:
- Pre-Summer Housing (June 16 - 23, 2012) is only available for individuals who are (1) Currently living in Arroyo Vista and (2) Purchase a Summer Session I or Full Summer AV Housing contract.
- Moving Requirements: All pre-summer contract holders are required to move to a different room assignment between 10:00 a.m. on June 20, 2012 and 10:00 a.m. on June 21, 2012. Room change notifications will be made on June 1, 2012.
- Pre-Fall Housing (September 13 - 22, 2012) is only available for individuals who
(1) Hold a 2012-2013 Arroyo Vista Housing contract and (2)
Purchase a Summer Session II or Full Summer AV Housing contract
- Moving Requirements: All pre-fall contract holders are required to move to a different room assignment between 10:00 a.m. on September 19, 2012 and 10:00 a.m. on September 20, 2012. TENANT understands they may be required to move more than once during the addendum period. Room change notifications will be made on August 7, 2012.
How to Apply - Completing your Contract

Summer Start Program participants do not need to complete the AV Summer Housing application. Consult your Summer Start Program material for instructions on how to secure housing during your program.
- Application Window: April 16 – May 25. (Applications for Summer Session II only will be accepted through July 6th.)
- Space is limited, and contracts are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Room type requests and roommate compatibility cannot be guaranteed.
- Pick up your contract at the Arroyo Vista’s Housing Office or have it mailed to you. Indicate your preference on your application.
- Summer contracts are due seven business days from the date you submit your application. DO NOT complete the online application until you are prepared to make the payments as outlined in the rates and payment section below.
- Read your Summer Housing Contract carefully, as it is a legally binding agreement. Complete, sign, and date the contract document. If you are under 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or court-appointed legal guardian is also required.
- Payment IN FULL is due with your completed Summer Housing Contract (except for Full Summrt contracts, where payments may be made in three installments. See Cost & Payments section below*). Return your contract, along with your payment (made out to UC REGENTS), to:

- Contracts and payments must be received by 12:00 noon on their due date. If mailing the contract and payment, consider using an express service (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) to ensure on time receipt. Always include a payment coupon with your housing payment, showing your name, UCI Student ID#, and campus address.
- You will receive your room assignment when you pick up your keys on move-in day.

Payment IN FULL is due with your completed Summer Housing Contract (except for Full Summer contracts, where payments may be made in three installments. All Housing payments should be made out to "UC REGENTS".
*Full Summer Housing contract payment may be divided into three equal payments that are due as follows:
- 1st payment ($559.39/double or $895.63/single) is due with your completed contract, along with any Pre- or Post-Summer payments).
- 2nd payment ($559.38/double or $895.62/single) is due by 12 noon on July 16, 2012.
- 3rd payment ($559.38/double or $895.62/single) is due by 12 noon on August 15, 2012.
Housing payments should always be accompanied by a payment coupon (which you will receive along with your contract), showing your name and Student ID#, and campus address along with the payment amount.
Cancellations:
Please Note - Summer housing contracts may not be cancelled after the contract term has begun and the resident has moved in. After this time all contract holders will be held liable for all contractual costs through the end of the summer term contracted for.
Prior to moving in to the room, however, summer housing contracts may be cancelled but only with written approval by Arroyo Vista and will only be considered under extreme circumstances. As a result of such exceptions, charges will be assessed according to the following:
- A $50 liquidated damages charge shall be assessed for all cancellation requests submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- May 25, 2012 (Pre-Summer Addendum)
- May 25, 2012 (Session I and Full Summer Contract)
- July 06, 2012 (Session II)
- May 25 , 2012 (Pre-Fall Addendum)
NOTE: Cancellation requests approved for Summer Session I, II or Full Summer Contracts automatically cancels any associated addendum agreement.
- A $100 liquidated damages fee shall be assessed for all approved cancellations submitted after the dates listed above but prior to the beginning of the contract term and prior to the resdient moving into AV.
