ALL – Anteaters Living and Learning

Curricular Approach

UCI Student Housing has adopted a curricular approach to residential learning. A curricular approach is a particular and deliberate approach to designing and delivering intentional learning opportunities. It answers the question, “what will residents learn through living in Student Housing?”

Educational Priority

As a result of living on campus, residents will become engaged community members who are socially, culturally, and personally responsible.

Learning Outcomes include…

  1. Describe all areas of wellness.
  2. Identify appropriate resources for support.
  3. Utilize strategies for maximizing wellness.
  4. Implement strategies for the wellness of others.

Social Responsibility

The process of understanding one’s own social identities, the social identities and experiences of others, and actively dismantling systems of inequity and injustice. It requires self-awareness around power and privilege, while building relationships across differences. Our goal is to center learning and create connections with others as we seek to transform political, economic, and social landscapes toward a more equitable and just society.

Learning Outcomes include…

  1. Describe social identities.
  2. Describe and discuss oppression, power, and privilege.
  3. Discuss their interactions across cultural differences.
