Verano Place

Verano Place Apartments is one of three Graduate and Family Housing communities. Verano Place houses mainly graduate, law, and medical students, and a limited number of undergraduates over the age of 25 or with families. Residents hold annual agreements (ending June 30) that may be renewed pending eligibility requirements.

Eligibility

Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units to be eligible to live in graduate housing.

Student who are married, in a domestic partnership, or living with children must provide specific documentation prior to finalizing their housing contract. Required documents include: a notarized affidavit of marriage or domestic or adult partnership, birth certificates for children, and documentation that children are living with you. Details will be provided with your housing offer.

Study Spaces
Four individual/group study rooms for 1-12 people. TVs, tables, whiteboards, and chairs are available in each room for collaboration. Reservations are only available to current residents. Additional non-reservable study spaces can be found on the first floor of the community center in Verano Place.
Music Rooms
Rooms for 1-8 people. Bring instruments and jam or use the space to practice a music lesson. Rooms 106 and 108 include a digital keyboard, music stand, and chairs.
Lounge
The Verano Lounge can be used to host a special event such as a graduation, birthday, or baby shower. This amenity includes Refrigerator, Microwave, Sink, Tables and Chairs.
Multipurpose Room
Located on the first floor of the Verano Place Community Center, the Multipurpose Room can accommodate a wide variety of activities such as films, community events, presentations, celebrations, large-group instruction. The room can be divided into two different rooms (A&B) by a partition. However, residents also have an option to reserve the entire space to maintain an open floor plan. Tables and chairs can be reserved upon reservation.
Old Rec Center
The Old Rec Room is a great space to host children’s event. The amenity includes tables for kids and chairs, refrigerator, microwave, stove, sink, bathroom, and a spacious backyard.

Wellness Center

The Verano Wellness Center is located on the first floor of the Community Center. This wellness room is equipped with mirrors, cubicles to store belongings while you practice, and a sound system. This room is ideal for meditation, dance, yoga, or group wellness activities. To inquire about equipment available for checkout, please connect with the community center front desk.

Community Organic Garden

The Verano Garden is an organic garden that exists to provide an opportunity for Verano Place residents to garden a communal setting. It is a place to work the earth alongside fellow residents you might not otherwise meet, and to share gardening knowledge. It is also an opportunity to increase sustainability by growing food locally, and recycle garden green waste and community kitchen waste. Eligibility is limited to Verano Place residents, with only one plot per housing contract. Plots are assigned by the Verano Housing Office. Community Barbecues and Picnic Tables

Located by the Old Rec Center at 3300 Verano Rd, behind the Verano Housing Office and in the Unit 7 Courtyards, gas BBQ’s and picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you use these amenities, please clean up after yourself and dispose of any garbage in the nearest dumpster.

Play Areas

Four playgrounds for children are located throughout the community. In addition, there are several large grassy areas ideal for outdoor play. A half-size basketball court is located outside the Commons Community Center.

Laundry Rooms

Several laundry facilities with washers and dryers are located throughout the Verano community. Front door keys open all laundry rooms in Verano.
