Graduate Guaranteed Housing Offers

• To be guaranteed a housing offer for Fall 2024, submit this application and the $20 processing fee by May 2, 2024 (4:00 PM Pacific Time). Students admitted after the housing application deadline are not eligible to receive a guaranteed housing offer, though they may still apply to the housing waitlist.
• Applicants will receive a guaranteed housing offer for Fall 2024 in one of seven on-campus housing communities. If you choose to decline your guaranteed housing offer, a second offer will be made, but it is likely to be less closely matched to your preferences. Placement in a specific community or apartment type is not guaranteed.
• Furnished/Unfurnished: All apartments in Verano Place, Palo Verde, and Campus Village are unfurnished. All apartments in Vista del Campo, Vista del Campo Norte, Puerta del Sol, and Plaza Verde are furnished.
• Studios and 1-bedroom apartments: There are a limited number of studio and/or efficiency units in Palo Verde and Puerta del Sol, as well as in Verano Towers. However, the availability of these units will be extremely limited in fall 2024, and students should include other floor plans in their preferences.
• Best-Fit Offer: Preferences indicated in your application are used to make a “best fit” offer. Placement in a specific community or apartment type is not assured. Agreements will begin on the date the space is available for occupancy. Housing cannot guarantee the availability of specific spaces to match specific arrival dates. In some instances, students may need to begin their housing agreement before their arrival.
• Single Student and Family Units: Most single students are placed in 2-bedroom units. Students living with a spouse/partner and/or children are placed in family units, which more often than not are 2-bedroom units. If you are applying with a spouse/partner, please note that you may be offered a 2-bedroom apartment. The availability of one-bedroom units is very limited.
• High demand/low supply floor plans: These are 12-month communities where the majority of spaces are already committed to continuing students. Very few (if any) spaces may be available for units that are in high demand or low supply, such as 1-Bedroom and 3-Bedroom units, or our lower-priced apartments.
• Smoke-Free: All communities are smoke-free. Use of tobacco products or electronic smoking devices are strictly prohibited in indoor and outdoor spaces, including parking lots.
• Animals (Pets): All apartments in Vista del Campo, Vista del Campo Norte, Plaza Verde, and Puerta del Sol are ”pet-free”. Some apartments in Campus Village, Palo Verde and Verano Place are designated as “pet-free” More policy information is available at Graduate and Family Housing Policies.
• Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals: Service Animals trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability are not pets and are permitted.  Emotional Support Animals, however, require approval for an accommodation from the UCI Disability Services Center prior to bringing the animal onto the premises. If you have a disability that requires accommodation of an emotional support animal, contact the Disability Services Center (DSC) by completing the DSC Intake Form. Completion of the DSC Intake Form initiates the process for accommodation consideration by the Disability Services Center.
• Presence of Emotional Support Animals: Some students in UCI Housing may have Service Animals or Emotional Support Animals to assist them with disability-related needs. These animals may be present in common areas (for example: room, suite, apartment laundry room, communal kitchens, staircases, elevators). If you have a disability, such as allergies, for which you may need an accommodation because of the presence of animals in UCI Housing, contact the Disability Services Center (DSC) by completing the DSC Intake Form. Completion of the DSC Intake Form initiates the process for accommodation consideration by the Disability Services Center.
• ADA Accommodations: If you or a member of your household is seeking an ADA accommodation for Housing, contact the Disability Services Center (DSC) by completing the DSC Intake Form. Completion of the DSC Intake Form initiates the process for accommodation consideration by the Disability Services Center.
• Appeals/Exceptions: The Graduate Guarantee Housing Program follows clear guidelines around eligibility requirements and procedural deadlines. Students who do not accept the guarantee housing community assignment may elect to be placed on the wait-list for another community. If the student is placed from the waitlist on or before the first day of classes, they will retain their housing guarantee; however, if they are placed after classes begin, they are offered housing for the current academic year only, forfeiting their guaranteed status. Their housing agreements may or may not be renewable, based on space availability. Students should consider the significant risk involved in this option.
