Move-out Additional Information

Community Facilities Closures

  • Meal service in the dining commons ends with dinner on Friday June 13th closing at 8 p.m.
    • Flex Dine expires on Friday, June 13th.
    • Return your clamshell food containers, utensils, and cups directly to the dining hall or in the amnesty bins located inside your hall/house and outside of the Anteatery and Brandywine.
  • Mailrooms close Friday, June 13th at 5 p.m.
    • Stop by the Mailroom to collect any mail you might have before you leave.
    • Change your mailing address for all your delivery accounts such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, etc.
    • All mail will be Returned to Sender (RTS) beginning Monday, June 16th.
  • All Rec & Fitness Centers close Friday, June 6th at 5 p.m.

Carts Available for Checkout

  • Cart pickup locations: AV Housing Office, MC Rec & Fitness Center, and ME Pippin.
  • Cart checkout:
    • Monday, June 9th through Wednesday, June 11th from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, June 12th and Friday, June 13th from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Carts will also be available on the day of Move-Out (6/14) from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • There is a one-hour time limit on cart usage, and a late fee of $25 will be charged every 30 minutes.

Move Out Charges

  • A charge of $32/hour will be imposed for late check-out (after 12 p.m. on June 14).
  • A charge of $25 will be imposed for improper check-out (returning to your room after turning in keys) and/or room re-entry (with help from staff).

Move-Out Parking

  • Complimentary Parking in campus lots on Move Out day ONLY.
  • Follow the 20-minute limit in the unloading areas. Cars left in the unloading zone for longer than 20 minutes are subject to citation. Unattended vehicles are subject to citation.
  • Service Roads are NOT available as loading zones.

Lost & Found – Items Left Behind

  • Items of value that are left behind (including bicycles left on the racks) will be gathered, tagged, held in the Housing Office for 14 days and then sent to UCIPD’s Lost and Found. Any person who wants to inquire about lost property may do so by contacting the Housing Office in their community.
  • To locate an item at UCIPD, Report a Lost Item.

Clean Your Micro-fridge to Avoid Charges

  • Micro-fridges should be cleaned, unplugged, and ready for pick up inside your room.
    • Fully defrost the unit: Unplug two days before your move out date.
    • Clean all surfaces of the micro-fridge– inside and outside. There will be a $30 cleaning charge for any units not left clean.
    • Leave the refrigerator and freezer doors open after defrosting and cleaning.
    • Return with all parts– ice scraper, top and bottom shelf, microwave plate, and ring. There will be additional charges for missing parts.
    • A replacement charge will be issued for any missing micro-fridge units.
