UC Irvine offers apartment style housing to graduate and professional degree students and families. Palo Verde, Verano Place, and Campus Village offer unfurnished apartments, and American Campus Communities offer furnished units with a range of floor plans. Palo Verde and Verano Place offer housing to families with children.

NEW GRADUATE STUDENT
STATEMENT OF INTENT TO REGISTER (SIR)
Congratulations on your admission to UC Irvine! Before you can apply for housing, you must submit a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Check your Admissions letter for your SIR instructions. (Please allow up to 48 hours after you submit your SIR before trying to apply for housing.) Check your housing guarantee status.

SUBMIT A HOUSING APPLICATION
The 2024-25 housing application opens March 1, 2024. Students who are eligible for the housing guarantee must complete their application by 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on May 2nd. Indicate your community, apartment type, and move-in date preferences on your application. The housing wait-list application remains open throughout the year, and housing offers are made as space becomes available. There is a $20 processing fee for all first time housing applications, which must be paid before the application is considered complete.
COMPLETE YOUR HOUSING AGREEMENT
Housing offers for a specific apartment space are made by email. (Please read about the Terms & Conditions for Graduate Housing Offers). Once the offer is accepted, the housing agreement will be emailed to you for completion. After your completed agreement is received a $150 security deposit and pro-rated first month’s amount owed will be charged to your student Zot Account. Check your account for payment due dates.

CONTINUING GRADUATE STUDENT
HOUSING AGREEMENT RENEWAL
Current residents of Palo Verde, Verano Place, and Campus Village (graduate) who wish to renew their housing agreement must complete the Graduate Intent Online Survey in March/April. Your housing community will send information and a link.
HOUSING CHANGES
Current residents wishing to switch communities or apartment types in 2024-25 must complete a new housing application to register their preferences. The 2024-25 online housing application opens March 1, 2024. (Use the “Housing Options” menu below to determine which communities you are eligible to live in.) Your housing community will contact you when a preferred apartment-type becomes available.
ON THE HOUSING WAITLIST?
Non-guaranteed students may apply to the housing waitlist for the current year at any time. The wait-list for 2024-25 opens on March 1, 2024.
Only first-time applicants pay the $20 application fee. There is no cost for subsequent applications.

Graduate Housing Guarantee
Ph.D., M.F.A., J.D., and Prime-LC, LEAD-ABC, and MSTP-M.D./Ph.D. Students
The University of California, Irvine guarantees an offer of on-campus housing to every newly-admitted, full-time Ph.D., M.F.A., J.D., and Prime-LC, LEAD-ABC, and MSTP-M.D./Ph.D. student. Guaranteed housing offers will be made for enrollment in Fall only and cannot be deferred. Students who accept this housing offer will be guaranteed placement in on-campus housing for the normal time to degree (NTTD) for their academic program. Students must maintain good academic standing to continue to qualify for the guarantee. Learn more on the Graduate Guaranteed Housing terms & conditions webpage.
Eligible service members, reservists, and veterans
These students are guaranteed on-campus housing for four (4) years or Normative Time To Degree(whichever is greater). Register with UCI Veteran Services in order to learn more about available campus resources.

Housing applications for Fall 2024 are now open for admitted Freshmen, Transfer, and Graduate students.

Disability Accommodations
UC Irvine Student Housing works in close partnership with the UCI Disability Services Center. If you have a disability that may impact your on-campus housing needs, complete the DSC Intake Form, and a DSC Counselor will contact you to discuss your needs. Any housing accommodations that are required will be shared by the DSC office with Student Housing. Emotional support animals must be approved by DSC before being permitted in any on-campus housing community.

Housing Waitlists
Offers are made according to waitlist category and application date. Students in Category 1 are served before those in Category 2 (see Category descriptions below). Selecting a variety of floor plans in your application may shorten the wait for a housing offer.
Category 1:
Ph.D., M.F.A., J.D., and Prime LC, LEAD-ABC, and MSTP-M.D./PhD. students who missed the application deadline; Medical students; Students whose children live with them
Category 2:
Masters students; Undergraduate students who are 25 years or older, married, or in a domestic partnership (no children)
